CHAIRMAN - Mr. Jay Naidoo
Mr. Naidoo was General Secretary of the Congress of South African Trade Unions from 1985 to 1993 where he was at the forefront of the struggle against apartheid leading the largest trade union federation in South Africa. He then served as Minister responsible for the Reconstruction and Development Programme in President Mandela’s office (1994–1996) and as Minister of Post, Telecommunications, and Broadcasting (1996–1999).
He is also currently the Chair of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Partnership Council of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and recently joined the Board of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation established to promote African development through a focus on promoting good governance.
He also serves in an advisory capacity for a number of international organizations including the Broadband Commission of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Lead Committee of the UNSG on Nutrition
